Life In The Light
Life In The Light
By Rebekah Griffith
Life In The Light is a deeply vibrant, atmospheric, and visually radiant 11x11in. oil painting on canvas by artist Rebekah Griffith. This intimate square composition features a field of wild sunflowers dancing in the afternoon sun, their golden heads stretching toward a luminous pale sky. The piece transforms a lively botanical vista into a complex and celebratory contemporary landscape work.
Griffith displays a expressive mastery of palette knife and thick impasto brushwork, building lush textural depth across the canvas. Brilliant marigold, cadmium yellow, and warm orange petals burst out against a rich mosaic backdrop of mossy greens, slate blues, deep plums, and flashes of crimson. Beneath a soft, buttery sky, the energetic, sculptural application of oil paint gives the flora a tangible vitality and movement. Housed in a custom, artist-built wooden floater frame, this captivating statement piece effortlessly bridges traditional floral studies with modern, texture-driven expressionism.
